Accounts Payable and Receivable Traineeship

The Opportunity

We are seeking an Accounts Payable and Receivable Trainee to join the team at Prysmian Australia located in Liverpool, NSW.

You will be working alongside an experienced team where you will be hosted by this well-established manufacturing company that is the world’s largest producer of safe and reliable cables for the power and telecommunications industries.

Undertaking this two-year traineeship will give you the opportunity to become a qualified Accounts Payable and Receivable Officer while completing your FNS30322 Certificate III in Accounts and Administration qualification.

Job Details

Your duties will be varied and include working alongside professional and experienced finance staff to provide support primarily to the accounts payable and receivable function of the business.

You will be trained to be responsible for duties including processing and payment of invoices, account reconciliation, producing end of month reports, processing petty cash and staff expenses, following up overdue account, and providing general support to the wider finance team as required.

About You

We’re looking for mature and highly organised applicants who are committed to completing a formal qualification in Accounts Payable and Receivable. You will have the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing work volumes.

This role will require you to interact with multiple people within the business as well as external customers, so a confident and helpful personality is a must.

  • A team player who is willing to listen, learn and follow instructions
  • Completed a minimum of Year 12 schooling with a strong performance in mathematics
  • Good communication skills
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs – particularly Word and Excel
  • Well-developed organisational skills
  • Desire to learn
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Reliable and punctual 
  • Ability to multitask with high volume workload
  • Attention to detail and basic numeracy and literacy skills
  • Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical, Drug and Alcohol Screen and Police Check
