The Opportunity
We are seeking expressions of interest from Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Apprentices, ideally in the second, third or fourth year of your apprenticeship, to work in several exciting opportunities.
You may be seeking a change to gain exposure to different type of work, or looking to continue your apprenticeship which has stopped.
MIGAS works with multiple well-established hosts and is looking for interest from apprentices based in:
- Rockhampton
- Mackay
- Townsville
- Bundaberg
- Sunshine Coast
Undertaking an air conditioning and refrigeration apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to become qualified in this specialist trade while completing your UEE32220 Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Working under the direction of qualified tradespeople, duties will include:
- Assisting with installing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining HVAC equipment in commercial facilities
- Working at heights and using general hand tools and other industry-specific tooling
About You
The successful candidate will either be a current HVAC Apprentice, have relevant work experience, or a trade college background.
You must have excellent communication skills, and be ready and willing to undertake physical work in an indoor and outdoor setting.
You will be willing to travel, work in the hot sun, and not afraid of working at heights. You will be exposed to new renovations and old renovations.
In addition to these qualities, you will:
- Have commenced your Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Apprenticeship already, preferably in your 2nd to 4th year
- Have completed a minimum of year 10 with good results in English and Mathematics
- Have a driver's licence
- Have a construction White Card (or be willing to get one)
- Be safety-minded
- Be well presented
- Have excellent listening skills and able to follow instructions
- Work safely
- Have the ability to pass a Medical, Drug and Alcohol, and Police Check
