The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a full-time Mechanical Fitter Apprentice to join Berendsen Fluid Power in Wetherill Park.
Berendsen Fluid Power is a leader in hydraulic services, offering the most comprehensive range of fluid power products and services across Australia.
This apprenticeship provides the opportunity to gain full qualification in the specialist trade of Mechanical Fitting, while working toward the completion of a MEM30219 Certificate III in Mechanical Trade (Mechanical Fitter).
Job Details
In this role, you will develop expertise in machining, operating various metalworking machines such as lathes and mills to shape, slot and bore materials and components.
You will gain experience in interpreting and evaluating technical drawings and specifications, as well as performing repair and maintenance tasks on hydraulic cylinders.
Additionally, you will use oxy-fuel cutting equipment, all while working in a hands-on workshop alongside skilled tradespeople.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support tradespeople with daily tasks and activities
- Disassemble and inspect mechanical and hydraulic components
- Perform painting and cleaning duties
- Accurately measure and assess components
- Reassemble mechanical and hydraulic parts

Key Attributes and Skills:
- Strong passion for the trade and a positive, can-do attitude
- Mechanical aptitude with a keen attention to detail and proficiency in using hand tools
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team player
- Reliable, punctual, and dedicated to maintaining a safe work environment
- Completion of a pre-apprenticeship or similar qualification (preferred but not required)
- Eagerness to learn and take guidance from experienced tradespeople
- A valid driver’s licence
- A Construction White Card
- Forklift licence (advantageous)
- The ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical, Drug & Alcohol Screen, and Police Check
